TER Drag Racing 101: 4th Edition

Back again with Drag Racing 101! This week's topic staging.

STAGING, online definition: to position the front wheels right on the starting line so the small yellow lights below the pre-stage lights are glowing. Once both drivers are staged, the calibrated countdown (see previous post on Christmas Tree) may begin.

Staging is basically lining up the two cars to make sure they are even so no one has an advantage. Again using the track analogy, it is similar to how the starting blocks help line up the runners.
